                            Actually crime prevention is not the goal.

                            Responding to crimes and making lawful arrests of violators is the main focus of LEO.

                            To truly prevent crime, you would have to know the when/where it is going to happen, and we all know they don't issue crystal balls in the police academy.

                              Perhaps a certain amount of prevention could be increased by coming down hard on repeat offenders. It irks me to no end seeing somebody arrested for the same shit over and over and over!
