Sounds more like poor shot placement or using the wrong bullet for the job.

They strongly disagree, cause that's what I thought at first. If 5.56 can drop boar, 6.8 should be able to do it better. The one guy I do really believe w/o a doubt, but without being there...

Anyway, it raised caution to me on a 6.8 upper.

The 6.8 should very well do better. The big key might be that with the 5.56 they are shooting in the ear which will drop a pig where they stand but with the 6.8 trying a traditional shot. Pigs can seem to run and move more often even with a proper shot than other animals.

If you can't kill a 100-200 pound pig with a 6.8 you need to learn how to shoot. I have never had one get away with a little 85 grain 6.8

Check out 68forums. There is a guy on there that shoots a ton of pigs using a 6.8. I believe his screen name is HTR.

I would be very confident shooting pigs out to 200 even with my SBR. 85gr TSX is my drug of choice.

EDIT: It also bears mentioning, for anyone that may be interested, that sectional density plays a huge role in killing power, too. 6.5 has the 6.8 hands down in regard to both.
I didn't specify, but I was referring to 225gr subsonic .300 blk bullets but never mentioned it. I figured everyone know exactly the gr I was referring to for some reason
