  • 10/22 availability

Does anyone know locally that might have a good in stock of 10/22's?

My Dad and Grandfather both want some target variants. Like the Stainless bull barrels with laminate stocks.

They checked Basspro, Cabela's, CTD and I spoke to the people at Elk Castle already. We were told they are not available and suppliers are out.

    Insight? Election year BS etc.?

I know Academy and Dicks Sporting Goods usually have some, try giving them a call.

Academy always seems like a winner with price and availability.

When I bought mine last year, I got it at Dick's in Frisco.

If you want the bull barrel guns, just go the gun show.

You could order from buds and pick up from jeff.

Free shipping, no sales tax, and pick up from Jeff for a couple of bucks.

Good points. I am a "got to have it in my hands" kind of guy first. So I would hit the gun shows if they were close on the calendar. If not, Buds and Jeff.

Anyone seen the new 10/22 Takedown guns in person yet?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

The range I go to in Huntington had a stainless/synthetic 10/22 takedown. It was pretty slick. The attaching system for the barrel was quick and easy to use and there is a collar that looks adjustable. The carry case was decent too.

CTD Allen had a take down up on the wall but I did not have time to get some one to take it down for me. It looks alright though not a big fan of the polymer stock.

Gun show for already modded 10/22's. I got one on the cheap at the last ft worth gun show. I usually keep my eye out for anything with VQ mods, they hold their value and can be sold pretty quick.

Valid, you would be hard pressed to find anyone who argues against vq stuff.

If you purchase a gun online for example, you have to have it shipped to a local FFL that can then transfer it to you as the purchaser. They handle all of the required paper work and charge a small fee. If you don't have to have it in your hands, then check out Buds, Gunbroker or CDNN. Also keep an eye out on Texas Hunting Forum, they have a very active firearm classifieds.

Jeff is a local FFL and if you're in Fort Worth I also recommend Jason at Cash Advance Pawn in Benbrook, $10 transfers which is as cheap as they come

I apoligize. I have shipped FFL many times before. I just do not know whom "Jeff" is or where he owns or works at a business. Thanks for the info.

I found a VQ decked out (bolt group/trigger group/barrel) for $400 at the last ftw gun show. I wasn't looking for it, but I couldn't pass it up. The last 10/22 I found on the cheap at a gun show I sold for quite a bit more than I paid for it. This one, I'm gonna keep.
