Old ammo disposal ?

My neighbor's husband recently passsed away and she found some old ass 410 shells that she wants to dispose of. She went to the police dept here in Sachse and they told her if it wasn't involved in a crime they couldn't take it and they don't know where to tell her to take it.

Any ideas ?

I need to count them, may not be worth the trip. I'm thinking maybe about 30 rounds.

no kidding. I wouldn't even think to worry about shot shells.
much moisture and it wouldn't last long...
especially if they are old ass things prob dont have good primers

If you don't want to shoot them, soak them in a bucket of water and then trash them afterward.

I'm probably weird, but I like taking them apart (at least the 12ga ones), flicking the shot pellets at stuff, collecting the powder and putting it on a fire all at once. About 1 second of pure excitement.

I get bored around camp fires though sometimes.
