  • 223...I knew it

So I got the Rem. 700 sps 22-250 and mounted the vortex 6.5x20x50. Loving the set up and shooting really nice groups at 200.

    BUT...I still want a Savage 223.

You need a better stock for that SPS, Wayne. Then you'll be like, "I said I wanted two guns? When?"

The only advantage the 223 has is it's cheaper to shoot, but a lot of that cheaper ammo isn't gonna yield the best results accuracy wise. That being said I'm never one to talk a man out of a new gun, I mean you can't really have enough anyway.

Haha, i bet once you get the Savage in .223, you will want to replace the Rem with another Savage in 22-250...

Edit: Oh and nice choice on the scope!

Wayne, disregard the question I asked in the PM. I see now what scope you went with. Remember, if you're not satisfied with the rifle, I'll still honor the money back guarantee.

The only reason to tell you the truth. See, I had my mind set on the 223 and then came across a good deal on the 22-250. Love the 22-250 and the ammo cost dont effect me being I dont range shoot very often.

Get on snipershide and watch the classifieds you can usually pick up the HS precision stocks pretty cheap. Another route that's pretty decent is the B&C Medalist stocks, only problem is every now and then you'll find one with an off center barrel channel.

Thank ya sir. I think its a pretty straight shooter so far. Of course it has 30+ winds, but they were still grouping well.
