Before the RCOs (Corps speak for ACOG) came out we did irons only on the KD range and part of qualification is to shoot 500 yards. We did it with standard A4s and M4s using standard run of the mill M855 ammo.

Just takes a little bit of coaching and you can easily hit a man sized target most times with open sights.

Hotrod that Bushmaster is more than capable of hitting a far target. Shooting is kinda like driving. The best mod is the one to the person controlling it The gadgetry makes life easier though

I could possibly be down for a G2G at Tac Pro, if I've finished my new load development by then.

I traded out of my 308 a few months back but i was running Hodgdon Varget pushing the 155 palma Sierra's at 2900fps. The shot amazingly well out of FN, it held 3/4 at an informal bench contest at 250 so I was pleased.

the farthest hits I've made consistently on steel silhouette targets was 1720 yards (just short of a mile) using a T2K SpecTacLR and 6XC 115 DTACs

Sorry but you are gonna have to go through Marine boot camp MCRD. Or we can wait till June and put in yhd middle of my backyard in the seated position dry firing 1000's of times at a barrel 50yrds away. Bring water.

If you want to shoot past 200y you have to be a member, or be accompanied by a member.

Congrats. I love the long range stuff.

My personal best is 564 yard on an Auodad. We shot pretty reguarly over 300 yards on our last trip overseas.
