  • Good 300 yard Scope for Rem 700 22-250

After much deliberation, I have decided to go with the Remington SPS 22-250. I really want the Savage 223 as well so I don't want to be short on my glass cost. I'm hoping someone here has some nice glass for 300+ yard varmint shooting.

Post up what you have that you might want to sell ...and please be easy.

    try for at least 6-18.

It depends on your targets. I could get by shooting hog's and coyotes and such with a 14x out to 500 or more.

Now a prairie dog id need some more magnification.

I'm just a bit scope ignorant as I had never owned a scope till about 8/9 years ago. I had hunted my entire life with open sights. So I don't want to make a mistake and get cheap glass, but I also need a good deal. Was hoping someone had one in the closet collecting dust.

Prolly nothing smaller than a coyote, but you never know.

I'll add that scopes can very greatly in cost so your budget might help narrow down something for you.

for $400ish, I would look for a Vortex Viper in 6.5-20x!

$389.99 from OpticsPlanet with free shipping. Lifetime Warranty!
I have 2 vipers, the one below and a 2-7x32 if you want to look at them in person before you buy...But, you won't be disappointed in the value/$ and quality.

I have been more than happy with my Nikon's, and for a ~$400 scope will be what I continue to purchase.

That said I bought a Howa Ranch Rifle in 22-250 with a Nikko Stirling on it with the plan to swap it. I took it out a few times and liked the scope enough to never replace it...
That 22-250 has been the most accurate factory gun I have owned.

The Vortex have been getting some bad reviews on moa and movement. Love the pricing though.

Not suprising, I figured it was only a matter of time. I know a lot of folks that love them. I had one of the red dots and thought it was a cheap piece of shit.

First i've heard of issues. Are these issues with the Viper models or the lesser quality, Diamonback and Crossfire models?

I shoot my Viper PST 6-24x50 out to 1000 yards and it's great. But then again it's twice the price. I hadn't heard of any bad reviews.

I'm going to be honest, most of the reviews are positive, the ones that are not are dipshits that expect NF quality in a cheap ass $400 scope. If they want that kind of quality they need to upgrade to the Viper PST and spend twice the amount. There are always jackasses thinking any product should be perfect regardless of price.
