Who here shoots 3 gun??

I've done a couple. I ran whatever AR I had at the time, my 870 Tactical Express, and an XD .45 (the last one I ran my SPringfield 1911).

They are a lot of fun. That being said, I'm getting out of that, and gearing more towards carbine/pistol classes, and shotgun/pistol classes. I'm taking Costa's Carbine 1 this year, and may immediately follow it with Carbine 2.

After that, I may try another 3 gun event.

I was saying that sucks about my AR-15 SBR that uses 5.45x39 (AK-74 ammo) not being allowed.

Big Muskie will bear witness that it shot very precisely despite being an 11.5" barrel.

It would be fun for giggles to shoot my Bulgy Ak-74, but I know the AK was always designed to spray high volumes of ammo. It's still fun to shoot.

I'm willing to be that if you talked to the Match Director they'd have no problem letting you run that AK in local matches.

I'm not fully familiar with 5.45x39 I thought no one was importing steel core ammo anymore. Or is that just from China.

I've always wanted to do three gun as well. All I have are pumps as well, but I have been trying to justify a 930spx. I would probably use my 5.45x39 SBR AR-15 or AK-74 (is that allowed?), Glock 22 with laser grips, and my Hatsan Escort 12ga.

Unfortunately they like to do them on Sunday's, when I am busy ALL day every Sunday.

Edit: Nevermind, ammo has to be 5.56 or larger...that blows.

How does her FN run? Any mods to it as far as to get it to run? What kind of ammo? I actually traded the Geissele out of my LaRue for a single stage Timmney.

her FN SLP MKI runs well with Federal bulk pack 2-3/4" from Wal-Mart (based on a recommendation from a Noveske Team shooter after extensive load testing); she only uses the light recoil piston, and the loading port has been beveled for ease of speed loading from her Mark Otto shell caddies; the only other modification I can think of is a larger bolt release drilled and tapped into the existing button

Hey Brian, I have a spare 5.56 bare bones upper you're welcome to. Also have a Mossberg 500 pump (just needs a shorter barrel) you can use also.

Edit: Nevermind, you already have pumps. Well the upper is still there if you want to use it.

Thanks man. I was just looking at the lighter piston, and curious if I needed it to shoot the cheaper ammo. Doesn't sound like it as long as I have the same luck as your wife. I'm probably picking one up here in about a week.
