Recieved my CHL today!

For the record I had my license in my hand 4 weeks and 3 days from the date I mailed it off to Austin.

Opening the mailbox was like being a kid on Christmas morning again (which is really kind of sad that I am that excited to receive government permission to exercise a "right").

I've run into a problem with my DD214 that I'm going to have to go to the V.A. hospital to resolve on Monday. My dad took the class the same day as I did and got his license 2 weeks ago.

I too had an issue. My member's form did not list my discharge whihc was on the form version I can not find. I just paid the extra $70 and was done with it.

My wife and I mailed ours on Feb 29. I checked the DPS website, mine still has no updates, just waiting on information. Her's has updated saying her info is there and they are just waiting on her background check to be finished! I'm going to be pissed if her's gets done before mine! Although I did pick up my CCW today!

As for the updates, mine showed no updates for about 3 weeks then BAM everything was done but the background check. Guess they got behind updating the site; fine by me as long as they got the damn thing processed.

Already got my holster; went with a crossbreed mini-tuck and belt for the Kahr CW9. Already been wearing it around the house; tomorrow probably the mall, Academy, Lowes, and anywhere else I can think of.

I was getting worried and called DPS because we had mailed ours at the same time. The guy on the phone said "Oh your situation is normal. Her's on the other hand is faster than normal!" I am going to start working on my holster and belt tomorrow.

My dad and I sent ours in a week and a half ago, still no update on the website. Mine's a renewal (expires the 25th of this month ), his is a new license.

I've had mine since 05 and remember too, i felt very awkward. But now, like my pocket knife, I fell awkward without it.

And since 06 it's been my Kimber Ultra Tacital w/ a SuperTuck Crossbreed.

Their belts are awesome. I wore the gun around the house for several hours with the crossbreed belt and then with my regular shitty belt and it was a huge difference in how the gun rides; it disappears under a loose, dark t-shirt and I barely notice it. Tomorrow will be the first real test but if it goes how I expect it to then I will probably be buying more crossbreed products in the future. I like the belt so much I might just order another one for the hell of it.

In a justified shooting it should be returned as soon as they decide to clear you of any charges. The key word there is SHOULD. I have read about cases in counties with common sense and they CHL holder gets their gun back in a few weeks. Other places it takes years or they are never returned (usually in your more left wing states).

I fucking hate walmart; I refuse to ever go there unless I have no choice. I did, however, go to Sams, which is the same company but not in the special-ed division. Anyway, went to a couple of stores and walked around and the holster and belt performed great.
