        Your point?

A pellet gun can kill. I still stand by what I said, its a piss poor round.

By that logic I should go buy a car for self defense , they killed a bunch of people didn't they ? Who the fuck said he wants to start ww3 ? It's a solid round for what most folks will do with a full size pistol ( punch paper) . And yes at 15 yards it will poke .22 sized holes in 1/4" steel . So that plate in your head is no defense.

For reals? What type of steel? I'm very surprised if this is accrurate for anything other than a mild annealed steel...if that. And I'm assuming you're talking about an AP round?

What makes it "piss poor"? Penetration is on par with 9mm pistol rounds, now energy is down but velocity makes up for that.

1/4 plate scrap we had laying around. No its not ap ammo we haven't been able to get that for 3 years . I going to assume by your reply you've never shot a 5.7 . Trust me it is effective . I'd still rather my .45 +p+ for self defense but FN 5.7 is a bad ass in it's own right . 1500 rounds of fucking around with it and I'm impressed . How much ammo have you shot through yours ?

I'm thinking from the opposite end of round defense, not just firing. And chill out dude it was a question...what kind of steel? Scrap can be anything. I don't own one, would love to but it's but it's not at the top of my list.

Velocity and sectional density of the projectile have more effect on the trauma created than kinetic energy. The trauma created by a high velocity projectile is far greater than a low velocity high energy round however both work very well. In all trueness I think the majority of it has to do with sectional density of the bullet which the higher SD the better velocity is retained and penetration is enhanced.

The humans use fivesevens on BSG. I doesn't do much to the Centurions, but works well on the skin jobs.

I go hunting A LOT. A fellow hunter bought one of those 5.7 bullpups. He hit a hog on the shoulder with that thing and one in the ribs. I ended up tracking that hog for 500-600 yards before finding it. It was still alive and pissed, ended up getting charged and killed it with a 45 acp to the head.

The next evening he shot one in the head, so off to tracking I go again. But this time I take my AR -15 with me. At 300 yards I find the hog and it starts running. 50-60 yards down range I hit the hog in the rear quarter and drop it (I gut shot the hog and the bullet exited his chest).

After getting the hog to camp, he went to look where he hit the hog. 2" below the ear and the bullet basically came apart and hit nothing vital.

This is the reason I stand by my piss poor comments on these rounds. A 223 with 60gr nosler partition bullets is Ok for game but the 5.7 SUCKS. The bullets are way too light. Hell most times when I go hunting I use a 308 because with a 223 shot placement is vital

Buddy doesnt hunt with the 5.7 anymore, he comes out with a sks now....I hate those guns too

And light bullets generally have good SD? The only 5.7x28 stuff that's ever done anything is the AP stuff that's like trying to find hen's teeth. Even then, it's a novelty.
