I decided to pick up a crickett .22 rifle for my daughter and called Cabela's to put the last one they had on hold for me. Long story short, I get there and they are selling it to someone else.
Knowing that is the only pink one in the area I inform the salesperson that the pink rifle is on hold for me. The woman isn't happy and tells me that she's been playing with that rifle for half an hour. I say that's all well and fine, but that one of the staff called me and confirmed this over an hour ago. Salesguy says he's going to have to speak with his manager to settle this.
Once I saw that the family involved was purchasing another rifle, targets, ammo, ect. I knew how this was going to play out. They confirmed my story that I had spoken with someone to have it set aside and that they dropped the ball. I, personally, think that they were not interested in losing out on what was clearly a purchase much larger then mine. Since, all I needed was the rifle.
Manager comes out and gives me an apology. Then tells me they are looking for another one that is local. After about 20 minutes or so another manager comes out and states that they are going to order another one and give it to me free of charge! Pretty kick ass, just goes to show that keeping your cool can pay off.
