  • New private range up NE of Dallas opened up

    Had a good day

From here it's about 275y to the targets in the big berm in the back.

Here's the targets after a couple people were shooting at them (10" on the left, 16" on the right).

If anyone wants to join, the major qualifier is that you have to be a CHL holder (his way of weeding out the people that can't pass a background check). Just let me know.

    Rules and requirements?

      Basic rules:
      - no tannerite, no tracers (noise, fire hazard respectively)
      - any legal firearm is ok
      - shooting allowed from sunup to sundown)
      - take out what you bring in (other than brass and lead)
      - no dropping off a vehicle to shoot at (environmental concerns with oil and gas)
      - no alcohol (duh)
      - overnight camping is allowed

All members have a key (similar to Micky's).

Requirement is $275/year ($230 this year since it just opened in March) and a CHL.

It's 53acres outside of Greenville. about 2/3 of it is the sandpit as you see in the pic. The other 1/3 is wooded (and actually will be cool to take the kiddos out camping). In talking to some of the other members we'll likely setup a fire pit of sorts to have a safe campfire.

Very interested. I am down for the private camping and range all in one.

Do you have an email address for the owner? I would like to sign up, but I am currently in Afghanistan. I have a CHL and have no problem with the fee. I will be home in May and would love to spend some time out there.

What is the guest situation? I have a regular shooting buddy, and I would like to take the lady every once in awhile.

Sign up where I teach. $75 classes right now because it is out of season.

You can bring guests. He'd like you to limit it to 4 and, of course, you're responsible for safety as there's no RO.

No. NE of Greenville. About 60 minutes from 121/DNT.

No... noone there to collect fees. If you go to Garland 2x a month and the drive doesn't bug you then it's a deal, especially if more than one of you goes (when I take the kids/nephews/spouse it gets $$).

Took the kiddo out today with his little Crickett. He got a lucky shot bullseye but just had fun shooting into the water (and mag dumping daddy's AR as fast as his little finger would pull... I guess he's got a little Somali pirate in him!).

We setup some clays as targets... Stronger than you'd think (this was shot with the Crickett).

how far is the farthest you can shoot?
not really interested if it isn't far. I could probably shoot 200-300yd at my own private location
