my dad ran one once and it came back clear then sold it about 4 years later that guy ran it and it came back stolen! needless to say the original gunstore made everything right... if you bought it from a pawn shop they keep records and should reimburse you.

This. They're required to keep the 4473. It should be easy to prove you bought it.
I have to ask the dumb question. Did you contact the pawn shop to see if they would work with you (i.e. reimburse you or give you store credit)?

I would be in Cash America's ass a foot deep. I don't know the entire process, but our local pawn shop has to wait a certain amount of time before they can sell a gun that was taken in on pawn. I don't know if it would do any good, but I'd bug them until they did something about it.
I would think(hope) that there would be some paperwork from the Ranger's office to show that the gun was retrieved by them. If they don't offer, I'd definitely ask before I left empty handed.

There is. I was already told I would receive a reciept and they are going after the pawn shop

I remember your post on that rifle when you got it, and it was the exact model that I had stolen not long before that. I know it's a really long shot, but what was the serial number on it? Would be a real coincidence if it turned out to be the same rifle...
