  • Good Trade or no?

Had my Converted Saiga .308 listed on TGT. Had a guy offer a trade + cash for it:

    My Saiga:

His Glock22 with Crimson Trace Laser Grips

    Plus $400 on top.

I am happy with the trade, mainly because that $400 bought my RRA 9mm 7" upper. Good deal or bad deal?

If your happy good deal no matter what others say, that's the point of a trade! I think it worked out to be a good deal anyways.

    Sent from a bathroom.

I've got the Crimson Trace on my G23, but the grip activator is a bit finnicky. Mine is just under the trigger guard though, and activated by the middle finger. Yours is on the bck of the grip though, so perhaps it will work a little better.

Yeah, I've never had any type of laser aiming device on any of my guns, but this is as you state, on the back of the grip. Basically it's impossible NOT to activate it when you grip the gun.

Pretty cool gadget, I guess I will see if it helps me aim at all...interesting note: The guide rod spring on this G22 is loud as nails on a chalkboard. I don't think the guy ever cleaned it. Any way to quiet it down? I oiled/cleaned it three times, no change.

          Sounds liked a fair trade.

I bought a brand new recoil spring that was the same way, shooting it seemed to help

Ah, that makes sense. This G22 looks like it's never/barely been shot.

In all honesty looks less than 100 rounds total. Slide wear is almost non existent.

I bought both my old G19 and the current G23 brand new, and have never had an issue with the recoil spring/guide rod in either.

Decent swap but ditch the Crimson Trace crap.

Opinions may differ but I don't like to swap something that I would not mind fighting with for something that I would not got to battle with.

If the crimson trace grips stop working, does it effect the function of the gun?

crimson trace is probably the very best combat laser you can buy for many reasons.

The gun will work just fine if the laser grip fails.

My comment about fighting with the AK vs the Glock is a reflection of my preference for rifles over hand guns.

I just don't like lasers on guns and only use them to get used to a new gun by dry firing it all over my house for a few weeks.

Yep. To me they are like the blood type tags that goof balls who will never be shot at like to hang all over their gear.
