  • Colt 1911 At Pawn Shop

Local Pawn Shop has a Colt Mark IV Series 80 Officers Model for sale. I believe it is Stainless Steel. It doesn't look like its in the best condition. It has some scratches on it & the grips are not original. Didn't have a whole lot of time to check it out due to they were closing already. If I read the price right on it then they were asking $399.99 for it. Is that a good price? Don't know anything about Colt pistols.

    Thanks!

If it it's stainless and was not beat to shit, I would buy it if I needed an officers sized gun.

If it's stainless it can be refinished extremely easily. I intentionally seek out bad condition stainless guns because of that.

I bought a Smith&Wesson 5906 from Bachmans. I tried to pick out the one with less "scratch and dent" marks. I'm wanting to refinish the gun, but not sure how. When you refinish, do you Duracoat or polish?
