  • Speaking of Shotguns...

I "need" a turkey gun. I have a Mossberg 500 right now, but it's a dedicated HD gun and is modified solely for that purpose. I was looking at the Mossberg 535 "Turkey Thug" shotguns that are chambered for 3.5" shells and have a 20" barrel with a ported XX Full choke.
Anyone have any experience with these?
Any other suggestions around the same price range ($500-550)?

That's about the most I can convince my wife I need to spend...

    TIA

    Go get a remington 870.

They are cheap and you can buy chokes for them cheap.

Personally I use full chokes on turkeys (3")

I use extra full chokes (3 1/2") shells for geese

Everything else I use a modified

Another vote for 870 if you are on a budget.

I should have prefaced my post with I don't like Remington or the 870 and won't own another one...

Then buy a barrel for your Mossberg and use it.
