  • Selling/Sailing Rifle - Buyer wants to Pay via Paypal

Selling my Saiga .308 converted rifle. Got a buyer in Midland who is heading this way this weekend. Wants to pay via PayPal with his Credit card (since I'm not a merchant and don't have a Visa/Masercart merchant account)

He said he'd pay the 3% fee that PayPal takes from me.

I'm a bit nervous. I don't like payments with CC's, but I will have his TXDL and his address and already have his phone. We have talked on the phone several times now.

I have a second person interested, but I'd have to drive to Waco to sell it to him.

    Thoughts?

Okay, aside from the Nazi's crashing hard on you for multiple payments coming in with the words "AR-15" in them...any other situations for a single firearm transaction?

It's how they work. If he decides to say he didn't get the item, you're fucked, period. In other words, as the seller, you can get fucked and have no recourse. I'm not even bringing my experience with that GB into this, this is from other previous experiences. And just so you know, they don't allow firearm purchases, so regardless of if it has ar15 or not, if he does complain at all, you're losing your money. I use to be a platinum paypal seller, I had done over 100k in sales with it, I'm pretty familiar with how you get fucked.

Just have him send the payment as a gift. He can't file a dispute then and no 3.3 % fee

If he complains to them that the rifle he bought doesn't work right, then he loses his money. If they are aware any transaction was for firearms they will seize the funds.

Oh, almost forgot, how does one "sail" a rifle?

If the guy is broke enough that he has to pay with a CC rather than cash when he gets here in person...

You shouldn't be accepting any other form of payment than cash. No 100's.
