  • Who locally is an Auto Ordinance distributor?

I really want a semi auto Tommy gun. Always wanted one and I think I am going to bite the bullet. I would really like to find a stocking distributor so I don't have to go thru all the transfer crap and fees. Cheaper than Dirt is out of stock. Any help would be appreciated.

Headed to the gun show today to look around.

Bachman Gun and Pawn has them usually. If they don't have the one you want in stock, they would be more than happy to order you one.

There was a place in Carrollton/Farmers Branch that was a stocking dealer about 10-15 years ago. Can't remember the name though. I think it had "Bear" in the name, but don't remember. For all I know, they may have closed down. They were just South of Belt Line, a couple blocks East of 35.

Big Bear Arms & Sporting Goods used to be on Milam Way in Carrollton, but Berge Boghossian has been out of business for more than a decade now...

in the event you do end up getting a semi Tommy gun, then I have for sale a cheap XXX mag and an L drum, both with the elongated notch for the semi magazine catch rather than a round notch for the select-fire versions; the L drum actually only holds 39 rounds and may be missing the winding key...

Have you spent any time shooting one of these? My dad has one and I hated it. You literally need three hands to load the damn thing. Magazine change? Go ahead and get get some help. I watched him do this stupid dance with his hands and arms just to cleat a double feed.

It is a cool show off piece and is surprisingly accurate a 100yrds but I am glad he owns it and not me.

Never had one in my hands. Just think it would be cool to own a piece of history. (even though it would be new) Had no clue they were that difficult. I only found one at the gun show. It was a WWII edition with gold plating on it.

It would be more of a conversation piece than anything. Found out Cheaper than Dirt had a sell on them a couple weeks ago, now they are sold out. Figures...

That's why drum magazines are so important!

They really are a huge pain from the factory to shoot. But there are companies that can make them easier to shoot.

At least .45 ammo is cheap.
