I watched the VTAC thing and didn't particularily care for it.
To be honest the easiest, simplist affair to me looked to be a single point sling - padded or bungee, +ambi plate that is versatile (thanks again for suggestions on experience) , + some leg clip or vest clip (front or rear) to tie gun to when you must negoiate obstacles.
I liked the quick disconnect stuff, but it looks too pricey. Those female / male plastic clips seem more than adequate to me. Combined with all the crap you need to make them work, it's like 100 bucks for a QD setup. No thanks, I'd rather stay in the $50 or less range for all pieces needed.
