    • If you can buy a newly manufactured lower and install a DIAS, then what's different about transferable receivers made on or before 1986? Do they use DIAS also?

DIAS is different from a transferable M16 lower. A DIAS is a registered NFA item itself. A transferable M16 receiver is the registered NFA item.

So the transferable M16 reciever has the auto sear built into it? It seems to me, as explained above, the M16 reciever would have to be continually repaired if something was to break. Whereas, the DIAS can be moved from one reciever to another, if that reciever was trashed?

An M16 is an M16, it doesn't need a DIAS - it has a proper full auto select fire trigger/disconnecter/auto sear. A DIAS was created back in the day to allow people to convert their semi auto SP1's and other AR15's to full auto without having to buy another rifle. The components that wear in an AR15 are the hammer, trigger, disconnector, and auto sear. With a DIAS it's a registered component. In an M16 all of those parts can be replaced with new parts whenever you like.

              • Ya'll are welcome.

Looks like all the questions have been answered.

                Now, back to business.

Considering the large amounts of manufactures, is there perhaps another company that would be willing to do a group buy with?

There are about 4 main major manufactures of Lowers.

                LMT
                CMT
                LAR
                MMS

                and a couple of others....
                JVP
                Olympic

After looking at some of the prices out there....I think the days of the 49.00 receiver is gone.

Honestly I think the days of the 79.00 will be drying up.

Just so you know...SAA made by Aero Precision....makes the lowers for Palmetto....

So we are still pretty much dealing with the same people.

I prefer lowers made by LAR...So I'm just going to think out loud and look at prices right now. I can refer to this post in 6 months and I would not be surprised to see these prices double.

they make Spikes, Noveske, Grizzly, Bushmaster, CMMG, Double Star and a few others I'm not sure of.

Prices are increasing daily. DPMS wants $189.00 for a stripped lower on their website.

                DTI (Delton) is $120.00

                Bushmaster $193.00

                CMMG $119.00

Spikes is 115.00 now....used to get them for 69.00 on Aim.

Right now Cheaper than dirt has these...

                http://www.cheaperthandirtretail.com...75-t6-2235-56/ for 79.99.

It would appear they manufacture their own parts.

They are in trouble on another website...ahemm.....and may be looking to do some business.

I'll try to get to cheaper than dirt tomorrow to look at one and see what I think about it.

                • Okay guys, we're spoken with Palmetto. We're confident that the likelihood of the prices changing in slim. They are unable to guarantee the price We got the prices very close to where we need to be, but we couldn't hit the homerun we were hoping for. IF you are still interested in staying in the group buy we will need an additional $5 per lower.

That means lowers are going from $53 to $58 each. Parts kits will REMAIN THE SAME.

Here is the kicker, if you want to get out of the group buy, you have until next monday 4/09 to make your mind up. DO NOT PM ME ON THF OR DFWM, you NEED to e-mail me @ cjshull@gmail.com. IF YOU DO NOT OPT OUT BY MONDAY, I WILL ASSUME YOU'RE IN ON THE GROUP BUY. Time is of the essence, and I need to get this order in AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Because of this we will be placing our order next friday 4/13.

These lowers are expected to deliver "mid summer" according to Palmetto. I want to stress that Palmetto is really working with us here, and I am very happy they decided to salvage our GB. SAA bailed because of the election, they feel they can charge more than they quoted for lowers. This is going to happen to ALL vendors out there. You can already see the prices rising. This is a very good price - I've had many vendors contact me trying to work with the GB and none of them could get close to this price.

$5 per lower at time of pickup.. if you're already paid, you're in.

As for questions regarding adding additional lowers or getting in, I'm working on that now.

Right now it would be extremely difficult for me to take payments in 7 days, I may be forced to if we fall below our 100 minimum. Right now I can't tell what we will do.
