Hi CJ
I gave up on my old username and email and registered with my gmail and this different variation of my username.
This is Jeff from THF.
So one of the questions I wanted to ask you is, is Palmetto going to make these High Shelf or Low Shelf lower receivers?
And can we add to our orders?

That's a good questions and we should ask. What is the difference between their lowers? My guess is it would be the cheaper of the two, considering our pricing.

Look at the low shelf takedown pin area and measure down. The "shelf" is the flat area. It is lower on the bottom pic and sits way below the takedown pin Hole.
Also there is an area that sticks out further into the inside of the lower right above where it says "fire". It is thicker on the right side. Look at the top pic and the lower pic and you can see the area that sticks out. This is to allow the use of an RDIAS or Registered drop in auto sear or DIAS.
All my Spikes Tacticals are low shelf and can use a DIAS as well as my CMMG lowers. My Stag cannot as it is a high shelf. This probably does not matter to many people as the DIAS is anywhere from 10-13K.
But if you buy the RDIAS you can move it from lower to lower as you burn them up. It makes more sense then having a registered lower, because if it breaks you have to weld it and get it fixed. With the DIAS you can throw that 79.00 lower away and put it in the next one for a few more thousand rounds of full auto fun.
You have to have a lower receiver that is LOW SHELF in order to have the ability to put in the DIAS auto sear.
Like I said, most people don't need to worry about it....but that is the difference since you asked.Last edited by Fatalw1shes; 04-04-2012, 07:01 PM.
