Building a Home Defense Shotgun

I'm building a home defense shotgun out of an old Remington 870 express that takes 2 3/4 shells. This is something i would like my wife to be able to use so I'm considering recoil reducing butt stocks. What would y'all recommend?

The factory stock with a limbsaver or decelerator and an inertia reducer in the stock.

There is a recoil absorbing stock that has a spring built into it, it allows the receiver to recoil upwards at a 45* angle http://www.midwayusa.com/product/915...ynthetic-black. That is the stock I'd recommend. I've shot them and they REALLY help with recoil, much better than a decelerator butt pad.

Add federal reduced recoil buckshot and she wont have any problems.

Buy a semi auto, shorten the lop to 11
2", show her isosceles stance and get her comfortable with the gun.

Yeah Mako makes good stuff, it just all looks like it's out of star trek. If you like the way it looks, pick up that one. It's a hell of a lot more expensive.

Personally, I'd get the knoxx, and then with the money pick up this: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/109...-87-parkerized and have it installed by a smith (or drill/tap it yourself, whichever).

I have the one CJ recommended but with an adjustable m4 type stock. Shoot 12g 3" magnum loads 1 handed all day easy. Like this but for the 870:
