They sell what they call an M24 through their LE sales but the stock is different and I'm not sure if it has the open sights capabilities.

My understanding is that the previous contract limiting sales expired a few years ago.

I wasn't sure, either way it's an overpriced for a factory Remington.

Not sure why anyone would pay $3,500 for a tricked out Remington 700.

because after the gunsmithing and all of the accessories/mods it would come out almost the same. And this is a REAL M24, not someone who got an R700 action and made a clone.

Collectors go crazy for original US sniper rifles. Original m40 or model 70s go into the 10s of thousands of dollars. Its all about the history.

Dude, you'd be amazed at how easy push-feed guns are to build. Also these aren't the mission-specific pieces the AMU puts out. Some of those get crazy.

It's a stamped 5R from Remington in a different stock than the Army even uses. The Army probably hasn't bought an M24 in years they have their own gun plumbers just like the Marines that rebarrel, true up actions and do trigger work.

Where do you see its gonna be a new stock? Looks like everything except the action (which is brand new M24 spec anyway) is gonna be as-is according to the info .pdf

"Each M24-R will feature a brand new M24 receiver, M24 24” 5R barrel, M24 fire control and possibly several additional new parts, as necessary to make the weapon safe and functional. The remainder of the weapon is primarily comprised of returned US Army M24 components to include the optics base, rings, optics, iron sights, deployment kit, sling, bipod and hard cases. Some of these parts may be new if sold as a complete system; however some components may not be present if not available. Serviceable system components will be used as returned from the Army, many of them painted by snipers. No special selections on paint schemes will be offered."

I was talking about the new made Remington M24 there is nothing wrong with these action rifles as long documentation is provided for collector value.

Edit: After reading the entire article these aren't even the actual rifles, just new ones set into a used stock. To me that would take a lot of the value away and make it no better than the clones made by GAP or TBA.
