      Great movie!

Columbus: That guy down there... is me. I'm in Garland, Texas. And it may look like zombies destroyed it, but that's actually just Garland.

For over 12 years I did thousands of insurance related roof inspections, and during that time dug quite a few (around 30) slugs of varying calibers out of roof tops and I NEVER saw even one slug come close to penetrating the decking. The closest I ever found was embedded about halfway through the decking. So if this was a ricochet it would have hit the roof at a low angle, thus increasing the risk of it simply deflecting.

If it went through a window, OK, but there is a really low chance of a slug penetrating a roof unless it is purposely fired right at it, which isn't possible in this particular case.
Those bullets were probably fired up in the air and landed at near max range with reduced energy. Centerfire rifle rounds are capable of traveling over 3 miles. One of the news reports I read placed that neighborhood at 1-1.25 miles from the range.
My WWI era milsurps have sights set out to 2000 meters(1.24 miles). I think it's possible to rain some bullets down on that neighborhood with enough energy to penatrate roofs.
I would be intrested in whether or not they are checking the bullet path into the house. Maybe even help prove or disprove they came from the range.

IIRC there was a thread on here about this range and people shooting at the powerlines behind the targets. I know they built some overhangs over the benches to stop it but I haven't shot there since.
There was a story on it, but there is 0 proof that it is happening and that came from the electric company that owns the lines.

I usually end up there an average of once a month and I've NEVER seen them allow anything like you're talking about. Maybe you should talk about what is happening now, instead of 10 years ago - I don't even think that neighborhood was back there 10 years ago. It was getting built when I first started going.

That's a fact. I enjoy shooting there, but have personally witness a mexican dude letting his ~8 year old girl shoot an AK while he was bs'ing with someone. She had no idea where she was aiming, and it was definitely over the berm. Good parenting, Dad.

I still shoot there but I wont go on the weekends due to all the crazies. Thursday or Friday mornings after I get off work is the best. Most of the time there's only 4 or 5 folks on the rifle and a couple on the pistol ranges then.

The rifle range isn't too bad, but I stopped using their pistol range a long time ago. Idiots muzzle sweeping everyone EVERY TIME I'm there.

Instead of turning it into a free-for-all once the range is hot, they really need to hire range safety officers (at least 2 on each side) to watch the shooters and keep them from doing something stupid.

                          That would be Gibson's Outpost.

I would not mind if they up'ed their fees to increase man power on the range. I have not witnessed what everyone else is talking about - but I'd like that range to stay in business.

Yep- I was out there last week for the first time to shoot with my son. When we told him we were using FMJ's he acted all put out.

Must have been the same guy at Gibson's last week- on lane 2 and she was nailing stuff on 4 and he was oblivious.
