Just bought a new pistol

kind of an impulse buy.. My wife was trying to convince me to buy a bulova (sp?) watch that was 600 bucks, and i said hell no, i'd rather buy a gun if i were going to blow that much cash.........hrrmmmmmm.... LOL! I initially went in thinking I was going to buy a 1911 of some sort, but after letting my wife hold a couple pistols, and seeing how interested she was in it, I decided to get something we could both have fun shooting, and that I could use for CC use if I so desire.. Got a springfield armory (well, really HS Projekt) XD-9 subcompact with the 3 inch barrel. We went out and shot it at the local range and I love it! I've shot the tactical XD multiple times and liked it, wasnt sure how well i'd like the snub barrel but accuracy doesnt seem to be affected at all, and i could unload an entire 17 rounds and every one would be less then 2 inches apart. My wife managed to keep every round on the paper, which is great for her. I'm still trying to decide what laser I want to go with, either going with a Crimson trace (not really digging the grip though) or something that goes on the rail. Now i just need to get some tacti cool stuff for the shotgun.

Before I new any better, my first handgun is a Sigma(still have it). A coworker got my interest into shooting. Started browsing in The Amory section and have been broke ever since.

XD's are good pistols. Been carrying my XD40 for a couple of years now. I got rid of the G27 after handling and shooting the XD. They're reliable too. Mine eats any ammo I've fed it and I've shot some cheap stuff.

There is a difference in size between compact and subcompact, and there is no subcompact M. Nothing wrong with the M, just cost more for virtually the same pistol as a XD.

I have the xdm .40 with 3.8 barrel and I love it too. great gun never any issue with it

Yeah I wanted the 3 inch barrel not the 4 (or 3.8 for xdm) after watching slide fire vids I might be buying an AK and slide stock soon lol

I bought the M over the normal mainly due to the looks....although the magazines do hold an extra 3 rounds

Missed out on the deal for the extra 3 magazines though, oh well

crimson trace lasers are excellent and worth the cash. You can find cheap glock laser/light combos on craigslist sometimes, and they are pretty good for the money.

i bought the xdm 5.25 competition on black friday.

initally i thought it was just alright but i got my 3 free mags last week so i decided to the range again. now i absolutely love it. it's so stupidly accurate, excellent balance, sights and magazine capacity. only thing it could use is a trigger job.
