Kroger employee shoots, kills would-be robber on city's northwest side
Metro Police and the Marion County Prosecutor's office advise an arrest isn't expected in this case

According to Metro police, an employee at a northwest side Kroger grocery store shot a would-be robber in the face, Monday evening. The man died a few hours later.
It happened at the Kroger near 71st Street and Georgetown Road a little after 6 p.m.
Witnesses told police a man in his 20's walked into the store and placed a hard object into the back of a female employee. The suspect then forced the victim to the office area where another employee shot him in the face.
The suspect was taken to Wishard Hospital in serious condition, but later died. His identity has not been released pending notification of family.
