Got my son a Daisy BB rifle for Christmas and he loves it..

Only thing is that it is a cheap one, since he likes it so much, I am thnking of getting him a nicer one.

Anyone know of a good one? How much pressure should it have to shoot rabbits?

    Thanks

A decent Benjamin or gamo will work.

My Benjamin from 1986 or so they still make all the parts for it. It does lack in the Fps to the gamos. Anything over 5 pumps a kid could not do without using both hands. Not sure on the gamos as I've never shot one.

Gamo FTW- they break over to cock it, single shot but very powerful. I also have a old Benjamin .177 from the late 40's that has been rebuilt a few times- also nice but lacks the punch the Gamo has

My gamo bone collector shoots 1250 fps with platinum series pellets, fast enough to crack the sound barrier like a .22 cal

How old is he? stick to single break over .177 until he's 10, then move him up to rimfire .22. 14 yoa enter into real hunting guns and shotguns. 12-13 handguns as well, be it revolvers or semi-auto.

Me and pump action BB guns never got along. I always wanted more power and ended up blowing the cylinders/seals. Not to mention the first time my dad gave me a BB gun I proceeded to destroy everything. I shot a hole in the back window of our van, I shot dents all in the travel trailer, shot a hole through the house's exhaust vent, shot a hole in the window of the second story, shot the tail light out of my brothers beetle, shot a few cars driving by... I definitely was not responsible enough for the BB gun. When the day was over I handed my dad the rifle and said "I'm not old enough yet for this."

                good times.
