P30 might be the best fit for you then. Go try one on for size, they have many backstraps and side pannels to tapir the fit to your hand. Grip angle is also very close if not the same as a 1911.

Tolerances and fit are pretty tight so cleanliness has been key. Had a couple issues with ejecting the brass but was using really dirty ammo that was caking up more than normal ( my sig hated it too). I bet with some more rounds cycled through it will loosen up.
Check online reviews on the DE1911. Most were very favorable for the middle of the road price range and nearly as good as all the "custom shop" offerings in the $1,000 range.
Not the best description but hopefully helps..

I have been looking real hard at the Springfield Lightweight Champion Operator but also at the much cheaper Taurus.
Any advice on either?
The Taurus is the full 5" while the Springfield is 4". Both have rails - which I want. The shorter Springfield seems easier to conceal but I am not sure how much accuracy will be lost.Matts1911SA - XBox Live Gamertag
