  • Issues with two different guns.

The first issue I'm having is with an Noveske rifle. Before I get to the issue, both upper and lower are Noveske that I bought separately and the lower I had to assemble myself. The problem I'm having is with the bolt closed, I can't get a loaded magazine to latch into the receiver. Now if I lock the bolt back, the mag will lock into the receiver no problem. The magazines are PMags. Is it something I've done while installing LPK?

Second issue. I bought a new 4" barrel from EFK for my XD9. At about 5 to 7 yards I'm getting key holing. It happens with every 3 to 4 rounds. The ammo I was shooting was PMC Bronze 9mm Luger 115 grain. The other mod is a polished guide rod and a Wolff reduced power 18# recoil spring from an 1911 .45. From the factory it had a dual recoil spring set up. According to the instruction with the spring it says to use reduced power loads. Could the ammo I was shooting with that recoil spring cause keyholing or was the 115 grn. ammo I was using incorrect for the rifling?
EFK Fire Dragon produces some of the best quality replacement pistol barrels and is one of the largest manufacturers of recoil reduction systems. Our hands-on approach to design, research and development enables us to produce some of the best quality product on the market.

    Thanks for y'alls help.

Are you 100% sure it's keyholing?

If you bump the ar mag firmly with the bolt closed, it won't latch?

Count your rounds in the mag. I had that issue with my AR and had 1 round more than its supposed to hold

Not completely, I was just having some round holes and some that were rectangular in shape. Also, not sure if it made a difference, but my target was one of about 3 others that were still stapled. Could multiple sheets (targets) of paper cause the bullet to appear as a Key hole?

No sir. I've given it a couple good hits and nothing, locked the bolt back and the mag locked into place easy.

That's what I didn't do was count my rounds. Perhaps I just topped out the mag thinking it was at 30. I'll do a round count next time and see if that's the problem.
