I'm considering switching from an in the hip holster to a shoulder holster. I picked up a cheap one from academy tonight and wasn't really impressed. Has anyone had experience with one that they like?

I have a friend that has a shoulder holster for his 1911 that he loves. I'll ask him what brand it is.
Edit: He has a cheap one he used to see if he liked the carry position, it's this one:
Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discount firearms, parts to build your next gun and more.
He said it's actually decently comfortable for 20 bucks.

I like shoulder holsters for hunting. But for concealed carry hell no. You have to wear a jacket at all times, and honestly it isn't easy to draw in any situation - how often are you going to walk around with an open breasted jacket when carrying?"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin

Dan, I have a holster that I do not use that you may really like. It may fit your 23 too.
It is a nice leather holster with a special clip/strap setup that allows IWB carry with a shirt tucked in. Next time you are up here you are more than welcome to have it. Not a shoulder holster of course, but still a viable option.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

every day carry. I picked up a horizontal shoulder holster from academy, and it doesnt show through my shirt, however, it doesnt stay in place very well and just doesnt feel comfortable, Im considering a vertical shoulder holster, or just sticking it in my briefcase. Until i lose some weight i wont be able to carry with an in the waist holster without buying new pants.
