Wow that sounds like a pretty good price for a Smith. What finish is it?

I believe all 642 are stainless and the 442 is the black finish. When I bought mine they had both for similar price. They sell a ton of them so you'll have to check what they have and what the price is. They change their prices all the time based on what they paid the supplier and they sometimes have the same gun for different prices if purchased from different suppliers.

I sold my old 642 and I bought this one a couple of years ago, so yes, it has the lock.

I have not "removed" it. The department gets wierd about removing stuff like that.

Shot the new pistola yesterday. I love it.

I just installed my kit last night. It was pretty easy. I polished up some things while I was in there too. The trigger went from ridiculous to reasonable and it's much easier to stay on target now.

I just picked up a Hogue grip and as soon as I get installed I will be up at Shoot Smart testing it out.

Shoots great. I put 50 rounds through the little pistola today. 10 yards and she groups beautifully. POA - POI is unaffected by the short barrel even at 10yrds.

Bought a kit(Carry kit) for my M&P 9 and I say, pull is a lot smoother and satisfied overall. Once I get my hands on a J frame Ill add the same kit.
Who at your work told you of the kit? A traffic officer or someone in swat?

I still haven't shot mine, but from the dry fire, I can tell that it's going to be sweet.
