  • Must have improvement for S&W J Frame revolvers

One of the guys here at work showed me a spring kit made for the S&W J Frame revolvers that reduces the trigger pull from a gorrilla 12 pounds to a 8-9 lb pull.

He ordered it Tuesday and installed it today. The kit and shipping ran about $27.

I wished I would have known about this product years ago...

    Here's the kit:

    Here's the gun:

    Here's me after the install:

I've never taken my J-frame apart. Is that a DIY or take it to a gunsmith install.

DIY. It's just replacing springs, but you have to be careful taking apart the side access plate. It is machined to extrememly tight tolerances.

I was happy to see the inside of my revolver was not like some of the pics posted of the newer Marlin products.

What is a commonly desired DA pull? When i first read that i was laughing about 9-9lbs and then I realized it was DA. But that still seems a little heavy.

Small revolvers typically have a heavier DA pull because there is no other safety.

For example, my Sig P220R pistol has a 10 lb DA pull, 4.4 SA pull.

Thank goodness that full sized revolvers aren't the same.

I don't know but mine is heavy and it's a DA only hammerless model. I remember looking at a stainless J-frame marked Property of CIA when I was shopping for mine. It had a nice trigger job but I wanted an Airweight model.

Interesting, I just realized i have never even shot a DAO wheelgun. Never thought about it before.

Cheaper than dirt had them on sale for 599 one time. I almost bought one. You have no idea how little you'll enjoy that gun with hot .357 loads.
