Just throwing that out there, I'm not going to either one because I don't want to get east texas stuck on me, but for those of you on the trailer park side of DFW there are two to choose from



Big town is a week away, nearly always a good one, and then new years there is fort worth (which if they continue charging for parking is a waste IMO).

Ft. Worth subtracted the parking fee from the admission when I went last time....Allen was a good show when I went last time, found quite a few good deals there.

Never been to a gun show, are the deals usually worth paying admission for?

I'm looking for a full size M&P9 but don't want to drive out there if nobody can beat 410 out the door.

In my experience Big Town is a waste and Fort Worth has always been pretty good.

Allen was pretty meh. Results may vary person to person but I was looking at wheel guns, ammo, ar sights, 1911 mags, tamales. I got a 2 day pass so I might check in late tomorrow to see if prices dip

I view them as entertainment, not a deal opportunity. There are good deals to be had, more so on used/rare items, but for the most part you can find similar deals and sometimes better on the newer more common stuff.

If it is a dealer they will handle it just like any gun shop or retailer, you fill out the form, they call the FBI, you then either get approved and the sale goes through or you get denied and there is no sale.

If it is a private individual they generally just want to see some ID for their own records and peace of mind.

I thought it was FFL to FFL only on older weapons like this- maybe I'm confused

I wish I woulda known a few of you scrubs were at the Allen show. I just picked up a pt709 slim. I also live right down the road from the event center...momo what major cross roads are you by?

I was not impressed by the show, but it's getting hard to find the slim. Most places I checked were out and I only saw 2 total at the show.

I was entertained by the guy whose "reach out and touch somebody, 1000 yard gun" was a 6.8 SPC AR-15, and the table full of nothing but Jimenez, Cobra, and Keltecs.

Oddly enough, I rate gun shows the same way, based on how many Taurus guns they have. If you only saw 2, I rate this show a 9 on a 1-10 scale.
