How do ya feel about a polymer framed, double stack 1911?

I just happened across this next door to the office.....I kinda perked up a little bit. As best as I can tell, Kimber doesnt make this anymore......and I've been kind of wanting a double stack 1911....no real reason though.

It feels good in the hand. Comes with a few 13 round mags.


Anyone know anything about this gun?

What would you suggest as a budget 1911? Im really not looking for anything but a range toy. I avoided Para in the past due to QC issues but are there better options for the money? I'm talking their entry level model at the $500 mark. I love shooting my Colt 1911, its amazing, but I just don't want to beat it up much.
