TFP, I don't know if you have made any commitments to another maker but... There is a guy out here in Va who makes awesome leather holsters. He has been in business for 20+ years and does not advertise so that he can "control his growth". Basically, he is as big as he wants to be just from word of mouth. Anyways, I have 3 holsters from him and they are awesome. If you'd like his number let me know. And I'm not sure if he ships, but if he doesn't I could pick it up and ship it to you. Let me know.

I was trying to keep it local, and very few makers were interested in making an IWB for the gun. I'm going to give Tucker a call, but if for some reason I don't go that route, I'll give you a shout. Do you have any pictures of his work?

I have one of their IWB holsters. Its was one they had in stock. I wanted a cargo pocket holster but read their lead time and decided not to order. I have since seen them at shows with a lot of holsters and always thought to myself that if they would spend time making the holsters for orders instead of random stock that the lead time may not be so long.

With that said, you may be able to get a local saddle or boot maker to make what you want.

I would go buy the holster elsewhere and give them another call in 6 months asking for my holster just to see if they make it.

And I like the way they use a "dye" to stamp out patterns unlike the rest of the world that uses a "die".

I called Bullards shop today for that exact holster for my Ruger Alaskan and was told it was in stock and gave me a tracking number.

It seems someone cancelled their order.

That shit's not funny, man. I have an order from Midway on its way back to Missouri because the UPS driver delivered it to the wrong address, the assfuck that lives there "stated they did not order and refused this delivery," and UPS immediately sent it back.

I am really surprised that he did not come through with your order. Personal I have 10 or more of his holsters and don't believe that I ever had to wait more then a few weeks for any of them.

It seems that his backlog has increased significantly in the last year. I found a bunch of posts on forums showing his wait to be ~4 weeks up until this year. I'm just saying, if you tell someone 16 weeks for something that you can make in a couple of hours, please make the damned deadline.

He seemed like a genuine guy when I was at his shop. I'm very let down, as his products are very well made, and I thought he was a standup guy.


FWIW: Cheaper Than Dirt in FTW is now carrying his products, and has been for a few months. Apparently they're a priority, as he has been restocking them. Unfortunately his customers aren't.

I know quite a few custom machinists and artists that have a maximum count they will do in a year. Its a number that they know they can support and still keep quality.

He should either stop taking orders or hire more people. Not accepting that hes over his head is a sign that hes not payng attention.

Adam, it is clear that the ball was dropped somewhere on their end. I would never special order anything when they refused at a minimum a deposit. But to tell you it would be built and then string you along is just piss poor. I wonder if David forgot and she just hasn't been mentioning the emails to him.
