  • Barrel Threading...

I need to get a 10/22 barrel (stainless bull) threaded for a suppressor. Anywhere locally that can do this other than Gunmaster in Plano?

I as going to use Atwell but tried for two weeks to get a hold of him and couldn'. He was the cheapest, and had decent reviews....
I just bought an already threaded barrel for a couple bucks more.

      I'm really disappointed with Gunmaster.

I took my barrel to them the Tuesday or Wednesday of the week before Thanksgiving. They said it would be ready the next week. I waited until today to call and check on it. The guy on the phone asked if they'd called to tell me it was done, I said no, and he said "then it isn't done." I asked when it would be done and he put me on hold for a few minutes. When he came back, he asked what kind of barrel it was. I told him, and he put me on hold again. A few minutes later he said they've been really busy with the holiday last week and people bringing in guns to get worked on all the time, and he didn't know when they could "get around to it," maybe 2-3 more weeks. I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow and either find somebody that can do it or find one that's already threaded.

I avoid gunsmiths at all costs. They are all flaky and take forever for even the most mundane things.

I just bought this barrel for my 10/22 and called it a day:

That is exactly who I was going to post. I have bought a few things from them and would recommed them for sure.

Indeed, great company. I built a gun mostly with their parts-

I may be able to do it. What is the OD of the barrel and what do you want it threaded to?
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

May be different, but I am going to guess and say .920 and 1/2x28

Did you talk to Kent? Don't waste your time talking to anyone besides the smith himself. The rest of those guys are tools.

+1 on David at Shark... He is a very busy but good guy.

I mailed my 700 barrel to a guy in Louisianna. He did it in a week and with the thread protector on you cant tell the barrel is threaded.

Kent is the smith, and he's a pretty mild mannered guy, very quiet.
