Just went through my receipts for the build. A little disappointed at this point. I'm at 513 for everything I have ordered to date. I've found a couple of good deals on AR15.com for rear sight options. I think that will cost me $40. So complete rifle with 1 20 rd mag will have cost me $553. I was aiming for $450 or under. Was really hoping I could do it for less than $400.

    Specs

    SAA/aero precision lower
    dpms lpk
    Aero Precision upper receiver
SAA chrome lined full auto BCG
    DSA non chrome 16" Barrel
Magpul MOE carbine length hand guard
    DPMS rear sight

I would encourage anyone looking to build one of these on a budget to keep an eye on the AR15.com exchange board daily, some great deals can be had there, I could have saved a bit there had I started watching it sooner. My parts should be here by mid next week, I will get pictures of everything once they arrive

The barrel arrived today. The only thing I notice is that there is not a sight post in the pre-installed sight. Not sure if it is standard or not for there to not be a sight post in the standard A2 sight that is pre-installed on the barrel?

Any recommendations for a front sight post? I'd prefer to not spend a large amount on a fiber optic type sight.

A couple more questions as well. Are there any springs or detents needed for the sight post? Last, do I need a crush washer for the flash hider?

EDIT: checked the link for the sight I had posted, and the price I saw on a compiling sight was for a sight tool.

My upper receiver, BCG, and charging handle showed up today. All that is missing now is a crush ring/peel washer for the flash hider. Now to decide whether I want to purchase the tools to assemble or not. I don't have vise blocks, wrenches, or torque wrench. Is it worth the investment?

If you buy the tools you will just build more guns.

I say its a win win
