  • Local Suppressor Dealer?

Anybody know of anybody local that has Gemtech Outback II or AAC Pilot IIs in stock? From what I found, buying from a dealer rather than transferring from a dealer to an FFL then to me could save some time.

SAW is usually at the local shows and has a few suppressors on hand. I have no idea what they stock though.

I emailed him (about a Sparrow, before I decided I want an Outback or Pilot), he said I'd have to buy it then it'd be transferred to him like a regular firearm and then he could transfer it to me, with all the paperwork and waiting. I read that it can take 3 weeks or more to transfer it from a dealer to an FFL, and then I'd have to wait for my paperwork to clear before the FFL could transfer it to me; I'd like to skip the dealer to FFL if it really does take any extra time, and if I can find somebody that has it in stock.

Can you explain this process a bit more? I too want a Gemtech for my Glock 22 to 9mm conversion, but I don't want to send off my forms to Tarrant County Sherriff, then to the ATF. We can bypass those and go to a dealer who runs the paperwork for us?

You have to do paperwork either way. If it's in state, the less wait. Out of state on a form 3 you'll possibly waiting 3 months on a dealer to dealer transfer, then another 4 on a dealer to you transfer. Either way theres wait and paperwork involved.

No, you can't bypass the sheriff by going to a dealer. he's talking about transferring from dealer to dealer

If you go the trust route you do not need a CLEO signoff.

My Form 3 was approved w/ Jeff in about a week, just to give you a time frame.

This is who I use, and they usually have Gemtech Outbacks in stock. They also only require a $100 deposit up front, pay the rest when your Form 4 is approved.

That's interesting. Do you mean Form 3?

Nope, the 4. They are a stocking dealer so no wait on the 3.

                          That's lucky. I had a recent form 3 take 3 months.

I can get you the Gemtech for $235 plus tax and the AAC Pilot 2 for $295 plus tax. It is true, I don't have them in stock and you will have to wait on the Form 3 approval. But, you can at least use these prices for comparison purposes.
