Why is it legal for me to carry as may hand guns as I see fit in TX but this knife is illegal?Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

You can carry one knife that is perfectly legal and fits your purpose, or you can carry another very similar knife that is illegal and will land you in jail if you ever end up under scrutiny. I don't care which one you carry, but plenty of good men have done time because some over zealous prick cop and some fuck head D.A. have decided to nail their balls to the wall.

Contrary to what you think, it isn't an automatic trip to jail. I've used great discretion on dealing with weapons.
I had a CHL'er printing and was called on by another citizen. I just had a nice talk with him and he went on his way.
I've let several knives slide over the years as long as the person was not a habitual felon and there was reasonable explanation.

Can't go wrong with a surefire. They are bright as hell and practically indestructable. If you want one with self-defense in mind, go for the 6PX Defender or the E2D LED defender. The crenellations on the heads are nice an sharp and can do some serious damage when need be.
