They let these guns in the tactical/etc type classes right? I've read some that require over 1000 rounds and all that, seems it would be nice to take say an M&P15-22 with 22LR rounds.

I could see it being frowned on if it were longer distance shooting, but for standard tactical courses I would think 22lr would be fine. Or would they just laugh you out of there?

There is one in Waco I think some friends and I thought about attending. Just never got around to calling and asking.

Looks like the same stock to me. That indention behind the pistol grip leading into the stock is the same it seems.

Not much difference in most of those and the HK/AR clones in .22LR other than they actually put work into building theirs.

My M1a and Garand have ruined me for other rifles.

Well it says Choate right on the stock, so I'm assuming you were right with the Choate idea

That didn't show up until much later in research

I need to figure out where/how to get that coupler so I can screw in a stock. I just am unsure about having a fixed stock with a 5.5" barrel. I was looking at a 10.5" so it still had some 100yd capability. I don't know how it would look with a barrel that long. Might have to just mock this up in 3d studio and decide on a custom stock

My .22 has more use than any gun I own, and it's killed more animals than any gun I've owned 10 fold. And suppressed, it's the quietest/most useful gun as well. It's the 1 gun I don't feel guilty spending money on.

The difference being I do all the work myself, I've spent $400 gun included. Those guys are a G in the hole.

I like RFC, but I stick to the action and stock sections. Lots of good info and ideas there for nice wood stocks. Can't say I've ever made my way to the tactical section, not my cup of tea for a 10/22.

I actually liked that homebrew bullpup stock (the one made out of aluminum) but only because the guy made it himself, I wouldn't buy anything like that.

                          Edit: This one

G in the hole. I know there's a joke in there somewhere.

Not sure if this helps, but if you're on ar15.com ask mike_nds.

mike, did you modify the Choate stock, or do they make them like that?

Cut down Choate pistol grip stock with the Ace "pignose" adapter. Super easy to do.

Good info in there. Anywhere you can get one of those stocks already cut and mated to that adjustable shoulder setup?
