I wouldnt buy him a paintball gun (technically its a marker) just yet. They can shoot faster 300fps easily. But going and playing isnt a big deal. Just dont wear anything thats good, the paint will stain sometimes. It also can leave a nasty whelp that mom wont like. I taught my kids basic range safety with some airsofts. Things like whether the range is hot, etc.
They are a lot of fun for sitting on the porch drinking beer and cooking hot links. Drive some 16d nails into a board just a couple of inches, set some empty cans on the nails (stick the can upside down on the nail) and when you hit you get to see the can jump, and eventually get chredded, but you don't have to go reset the targets every round.Comment
