Academy has the 60 for $149.99 new and the 10/22 with wood stock for $169.99.

I personally would go with the 10/22 but you can't go wrong with either...

I might call and see if I can layaway two 10/22s just to stash away for a rainy day.

You're welcome to my extra barrel and stock when you take delivery on your rifle. It's just the stock barrel and stock but with a few extra parts, you'll have a second rifle.

No I'm serious, my model 60 just sits in my safe, I haven't fired it in years. A scope would make it serve a purpose, my 10/22 only has a red dot.

Good call on the model 60. Mine was my first rifle and it still shoots just as good as it ever did. (which is better than a factory 10/22)

I was thinking the same thing, your spending money on gas that you could use for buying the .22. Seriously, couldn't you have called around and asked for a couple of models and see what they are going for?

You can find some good deals on cheap rifles at Pawn Shops. The best deals are found when you put that time in and go the shady places too and check every rifle.

there is logic to my madness. i live in on 35w. i had already called and knew bass pro shops had a good deal that i wanted to check out. if i took 35w to 820 to 183 thru all the 114 william d tate bull shit traffick would have blown gorilla balls so i planned to go 35w to 170?? to 114 south to 1709 and come in the back way and not hit traffic. cabelas was on the way to this.

Logic would be if you weren't familiar with any of the .22's you were interested in that you would want to put your hands on one and check them out. Driving that much around simply to get prices sucks gorilla balls.
