Been to academy today and they had a remmington with a scope for 179.99 and called bass proshops and they have the same one for 169.99. Heading to cabelas right now. Any gun below 300 is in my budget. I'm just trying to get the best price even if its used.
If you want a quality .22 don't get the GSG AK 47 .22. The GSG 522s / and 47s can bit pretty finicky and may need a bit of tuning to get reliable. If you want it to last forever get a 10/22 or something in those lines. I got one for my son for $220 or so out the door.

For a cheap gun to start out with check out the Marlin Model 60. Probably can find one for under $100.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think cabela's is a lit out priced by bass pro shops so I'm heading there now.

Are you driving from Allen to Grapevine to save $20? You must be driving a Prius.

Marlin Model 60 or Ruger 10/22.

Academy has the 60 for $149.99 new and the 10/22 with wood stock for $169.99.

I personally would go with the 10/22 but you can't go wrong with either...

Driving from fort worth to grapevine for $20 is madness. LOL

Good call on the model 60. Mine was my first rifle and it still shoots just as good as it ever did. (which is better than a factory 10/22)

Thanks for ya'lls help. It was fun as hell looking at all the bad mofo's I can't afford. I'm just glad I wasn't delayed like last time. It was 3 days to get cleared and by then my impuse had wore off. This time it was fast as hell
