  • Need a little help with school.

We have a group project in speech where we crash land in Afghanistan, and have to live for about 3 months. You crash in "Taliban" territory, and you cannot stay at the crash site.

You can only pick 12 items to carry out of your entire group. So a backpack for every person counts a 4 items. BUT if you find a bug-out backpack that has all sorts of crap then that counts as one items that has food, matches, and whatever else. The more survival crap I can group together the better.

I need help with finding the following (money isnt an issue):
An Ultimate bug out kit. Like this(fire starter, food, first aid)
A ar-15/m4 that comes with an ass load of ammo, cleaning kit, and hopefully a scope. (Maybe some package deal online)
maybe some sort of kit that has a shovel and a knife?

At the least I thought this would bring up a good thread to talk about what you would need to survive.

The only thing you would need to survive 3 months in the Afghanistan Taliban area is money, money, money and more money.

All kidding aside even though that is 100% truth......

when I travel on my body at all times are:
        GPS
Cell phone with extra batteries and plenty of minutes
        SAT Phone
1:100k map of the area you are traveling through (from A to B)
Blade, good folder, I use a 4.5" bladed CRKT
        watch
nomex gloves, ballistic glasses, body armor, and cotton clothing or nomex blend stuff
        50' of 550 cord

things to have also would be
water purification tablets or a system (there is a lot of very nasty stuff out here, you don't want to drink it), be wearing good boots, IR panels so you can use them at night to be spotted with (the design is to be rescued not to be on a camping trip right?),

climate appropriate clothing - we are at high altitude and no on crashes in the lesser in height places out here. Figure to be at 8,000 or greater and more than likely 10,000 plus. Now think about temps today and forecast out 3 months at that altitude. Example: there is already snow on the mountains around me but I am in a short sleeve shirt at 5,600' but in 3 months it will be real nasty. Hell the snow does not melt off the mountains until late June.

Statistically if you crash in this environment you are not going to survive. The terrain is a killer, the crash is a killer and the environment is a killer. That is not even to mention getting captured/killed. You stand a better chance of the later at the hands of the criminal element.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Well, aren't you just a debbie Downer! LOL

Seriously, he's right, but for the sake of your project, what my Afghani brother listed in his post is pretty good. I would probably throw in a Leatherman-type tool instead of just a good folder since I can have more utility out of one of my 12 items. Realistically, I'd definately want a nice 3.5" or larger blade.

Don't forget your identification when you run into some US troops. Just because you look and sound American, you're in the middle of Asscrackistan, so you're going to have to prove to them why they should pull the barrel of their M4 out of your mouth. Our troops can be just as much of a threat to you (if not more) than the Taliban.

Is this northern or southern Afghanistan? I ask because there could be a night and day difference in climate and elevation.

I would say used from AR15.com is your best bet to get this. I don't think you are going to find one with a cleaning kit included but a scoped AR should not be a problem, might even find one with ammo.

When I was at Cabela's in Allen last week they had a deal on DPMS AR-15 with 1000 rounds of ammo, extra mags, and a cleaning kit. I don't see it on their website.

A PVS-14 and illuminator should be included in that. 10x safer to travel at night, and easy to flag jets/helicopters. An IR illuminator being used on the ground would show up for tens of miles in the desert.

The teacher is going to pick it apart, and pretty much there is no way to survive.
No need for a cell, since you aren't going to call for help, and you aren't going to be found by soldiers (for at least 3 months).

That's what I really need, but I can't use it unless I have some proof of the deal.

You crash but are not going to try and be found for "about" 3 months. Why not crash you into somewhere that there are not 100,000 Americans looking for people already?

If you teacher has not spend any time out here he can't pick anything apart.

Speaking of which, incoming, heading for the bunkers.

How about one satellite phone, 10 billion in a trust fun and a will that says half of it goes to the executor but only if you die in the US...

                          That is 12 items, right?

Lol Im not the teacher so I have to take it for what it is. I know you should have something to help people locate you but with 12 items, for this situation I want a toothbrush over a flare gun.
