If CAI shipped with a US magazine, you could be in violation now with those bakelite mags. CAI usually omits them from 922r though.
No I got a eastern European surplus steel mag, and a Tula Polymer mag when I bought it. I wonder if you can put other AR-15 muzzlebreaks on it or any other american made parts. but if its reverse threaded that is a no... Barrel is 16 inches I will try to disassemble tonight.

/edit On another note I measured the barrel that night and its 14.5 inches from chamber to muzzle brake. so I guess its welded on.

Welp, I have been staring at that DSA 16" upper and was planning on buying that and then having it cut by a local shop down to 10.5", but then I found this:

Same price as the 16", but is an 11" upper. I couldnt resist and just placed my order. Now I just need to find a cheap BCG and charging handle. But for now, I can just pull one from one of my other AR's. $289 and change shipped...can't beat it.

Eventually my SBR will wind up as this:

      Nothing special, except to me.

it's pinned, it can be removed as long as you re-pin it. If it came with a tula polymer mag, look at it really carefully - it might have a US spring/floor plate. Which means you're in violation of 922r with your bakelite mags. They have done that before.

Well I got a call, they are all backordered...they don't have 11" barrels till the 3rd weekend in Nov. But hey, at least it's ordered and I have enough time now to get my letter off to the ATF informing them of a caliber/size change. And change of address.

I think PSA had some 6.8spc uppers for $400 a few months ago but those are long gone. I got a Delton chrome lined 1x7 for $360 about a month ago. The deals are out there you just have to be patient.

I was, but now just to keep it safe it has a US made Handguard, Buttstock, Pistol Grip, Washer, Bolt for the Pistol Grip. It is now safe I think.
