Out of the box, the Savage is going to be the most accurate. It's ugly though, so it kind of gets short shrift with the Remington crowd. The upside is, it's modular, so you can make it into anything you want on your kitchen table, a la the AR-15.
Out of the box Savages have GREAT triggers which lends to their accuracy. Remington has stepped up their game with their new triggers lately though. I like the 700 platform because it is still more modable than the Savage. Don't get me wrong though, Savage makes one hell of a rifle in whatever configuration you want. Eitherway you can't go wrong.

Agreed. Savage's barrels are better, unless you're stepping up to a 5R barrel. That said, there are WAAAAY more parts available for Rem 700's, and they're about half the price of Savage-specific go-fast parts.
But there are plenty of out of the box savages that are .5 moa guns. If you're not a .5 moa shooter then trigger time and some diligence are the only things that are going to change that.
Trust me, I can shoot 2 MOA with a $1800 5r barreled 700, just as easily as I could with my $300 Savage.

Hell, that's cheap compared to the Remington, especially considering it has the Accutrigger, DBM, an Accustock, and a threaded barrel. That's the first "fancy" Savage I've seen that I can't build cheaper than I can buy..
