    matched the hammer and topstrap, but barrel assembly looks different. This is a pre-model 10 in 38 I believe. Yours should



    Here's another that indicates they were concurrent with the model 10/victory



    the model 10 started in 1899, I bet yours is 1930-1945.

          on the top of the barrell it reads this


          "smith and wesson springfield mass usa
          patented october 6 1901, december 17 1901
          feb 6 1908 sept 14 1908 december 19 1914"

            Not a smith collector so I don't know, but you have verified it is post 1914

                No I don't think so. More like a 30 Carbine.

                I never knew smith made a double action in 32-20 though. I was assuming 32 short. Lots of those were issued.

                If it is a 32-20 then it was likely never any issue piece.
