Anyone with personal experience on how a Canon differs in quality to a Liberty? I have a Canon that I am happy with, but I have been curious about the Liberty safes ( I am about to outgrow my Canon and may need to upgrade soon or just buy a second safe).
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

The big key to me Lantirn is research who actually builds the safes. I can't remember the details but say there are 12 different "brands", only 3-4 people may make them. Amsec is one...etc.

kbs, although I don't care for a store's name on the front of it - it is a very slick looking safe. That paint is nice.

I would have loved it even more without the name on their also. The picture does not capture the color right, looks more brown in the photo. The color is a dark grey and black on the edges. We are happy with it.

As long as DiAnn behaves, she can keep looking at the safe from the outside.

If she misbehaves, you can throw a chair in there and she will have a nice place to sit!

As soon as I saw the picture I thought the same thing (about the color).
Glad you got it worked out though. It's a really nice safe.

Looks great! I have the same one, but mine is smaller. I don't know the model, but it was $1,200.

I'll have to look into them when I get ready to buy my next one. Not unhappy at all with the Cannon, but it was a mid-level safe and I know there are better ones out there, and ones that are made in the US.

KBS, that looks like it is about the same size as my Cannon; it will fill up WAY too fast. If it's one thing I learned from my first safe purchase; you can never buy a safe that is big enough. Mine filled up in just over a year.

I don't know your budget, but there is a safe store in Garland. It seemed to me their normal consumer level safes were over-priced. However, their higher end safes seem fair to well priced. They had one, I can't remember and specs on it - but it was heaven and really good looking. The space between the door and frame was so small, I swear you'd be lucky to get a toothpick in it. I believe it was 4600 dollars.

It was larger than most safes, but not THAT large and I'd bet that thing weighed every bit of 1800-2000 pounds

Right now a new safe is not in the budget at all; we are expecting our first child in February so between savings and that all of our money is pretty much earmarked for the time being. But, that is kind of a good thing, because now I can't buy another gun without selling one, so that means I will not be able to run out of room in the safe for a while, at least in theory.

I know how that works. An option is the straightforward Costco safes. If I had the space I'd buy them all and resell them.

Hell, I bought their smaller one (not the smallest, like a 22 gun safe) for 500 I think and sold it for 750 and bought their largest one at 799. They are not high end per se, but they fulfill a purpose.

The best prices for high end guns safe that I have found is a gun store in Tulsa called "Bongs". I have bought 3 from them so far.

Deliver tomorrow is gonna be a great day.
Watch out with that "Liberty" light kit. Had one of the brackets mess up causing one of the bolts to not fully extend. It locked the others but then caused the safe to not open. Called a Liberty service guy and he said that since the lights are not actually from Liberty it was not a warranty service call and ended up costing $350.

You called Liberty or someone else? Liberty themselves are the only ones who make that decision, I am a "Liberty service guy" but we can't make warranty or non warranty judgements. Was the light kit a factory or aftermarket install? The Liberty Tech support team make those decisions. If not a Liberty install then its the installer responsibility.
