just wanted to see what thoughts yall had on this DRACO bullpup pistol kit -
    top of page basically....

looks like if you never put anything on the rear of the stock , you would be clear of the SBR stamp
looks like if you never put a fore grip on the front, you would be clear of the AOW stamp

I'm thinking about going for it. Know this though :

    0. lead time 12 + weeks . LMAO damn that sucks.
    1. it will require work. though the trigger is a direct connect system, it wont be perfect . I viewed a CBRPS bullpup video review on youtube where the guy is manually having to reset the trigger forward. Suck.
    2. needs a sight rail accross the top badly.
    3. heat from the front is hot and heavy (as is well known to bullpups anyway, that aren't even this short)
    4. this short of a barrel AK 12 ", will have pretty nasty flash near your face. you better be ok with that I would think.
    5. to me , it looks like 20 rd mags would make for a much more compact overall package. Maybe backed up with 30rd ers.

With that kind of lead time, you might as well just go ahead and submit the stamp.

        Also know this-
I have shot may bullpups, and not a single one had a trigger on par with a traditional rifle. They are all mushy and glock-like, and there is not much you can do about it. Hell, my fs2000 is a spectacular rifle in most every way, but the trigger is down right awful. I can only imagine how bad it is on a retrofitted AK with a goofy 7 inch long linkage.

Also, I can only imagine how hot and loud that thing is. The FS2000 and aug are both insulated by a shit ton of polymer, whereas that is straight metal. Also, your ear is dangerously close to the blast.

damn i found another thread where a guy bought the draco kit and failed to ever get it working good, gave up and sold it off.

          fuck that disappointing.
          Thanks for the additional info.
I think i could live with the trigger being poor on such a short bullpup.
The blast thing, are you talking about the blast from the muzzle, or the action ?
I guess at 21" overall. your ear is pretty close to the blast from the muzzle LOL

anyways once i shot a 9mm short pistol with a heavily compensated barrel (a factory XD of some kind).... the blast wave was considerable on your face. Of course there was hardly any recoil, but the feeling on your face was kind of annoying/detracting from the enjoyment of said handgun.

            Thoughts on this SKS bullpup?

            (halfway down the page)

            SKS Yugo / Norinco 7.62x39, Semi-automatic, Base price $275

(Special arrangements must be made to order and receive this stock)

The overall length of the CBRPS installed on an SKS Yugo barreled action is 34" (30" for Norinco). It fires the same round as the AK47, but the additional 6-7 inches of barrel on the SKS provides for better accuracy, muzzle velocity and downrange power, while measuring 1-1/2" less than the standard AK47. The front grip also assists overcoming the firing torque generated by the long barrel of the SKS.

Sportsmen who were fortunate enough to pick up one of these finely machined rifles when they were in abundant supply would benefit significantly from the CBRP System. Though the factory barreled action is quite heavy, the system allows for handling with one hand.

The bayonet and gas rod wood shield requires removal for installation of our system. After cleaning, this unit can be installed or removed in it's entirety within a minute or so without the need for tools. The widened standard CBRPS trigger provides excellent tactile contact and control for the long pull of the factory SKS trigger. Part of the design has been to accommodate aftermarket extended magazines as shown above. Part of the design was also to provide ease of access to the factory action and bolt (see picture above).

            SKS Yugo / Norinco 7.62x39, Semi-automatic, Base price $275

(Special arrangements must be made to order and receive this stock)
Remington 597 .22 Long Rifle, Semi-automatic Standard, Base Price $225
The Remington 597 with the 20" barrel provides an excellent barreled action for the CBRPS. The overall length of the unit is 26-3/4".

The most recent edition of the 597, with the target grade trigger is an exceptional firing rifle. The older units that do not have the target grade trigger benefit from the CBRPS trigger engagement design and provides a better tactile sense than the factory triggers.
Shown with hinged butt open for access to action and factory safety
Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R, Bolt Action, CBRPS aluminum chassis and side panels, Base Price $290
Important note: We accept no responsibility for the functioning or malfunctioning of the barreled action fitted to our system.

A clean, safe and properly functioning barreled action with reliable ammo is required in order to use the CBRP System. Though a gas shield covering the majority of the receiver is in place, the design cannot compensate for a dirty or faulty weapon or ammo. It is imperative, due to the nature of the semi-automatic bolt operation during battery and case extraction of the SKS system, that the safe functioning of the rifle be verified prior to mounting on our system and maintained thereafter. If there is any doubt at all, do not acquire or install the CBRPS unit. Our disclaimer is due to the fact that this is a drop in unit, not requiring any gunsmithing, whatsoever.

The notarized waiver is required for the purchase and shipment of this unit.
Finally, in an emergency, if iron sights are required, the factory flip up front and rear sights for the Yugo grenade launcher has been accommodated with our design and are suited for the 200 yard range. Red dot systems may or may not require removal, depending on the height of the base. Removal of the optics will be required if it extends beyond the rear of the mounting platform or if it is a magnifying scope.

I've actually had my eye on that for a while. I'd really like to see more user feedback before I spend that much and wait that long though. I think it'd go very well with my old $90 Norinco SKS.

It's hard to pass up a bullpup with sks reliabilty that cheap.

I still wish FN Herstal would chamber the ps90 in a more substantial caliber than 5.7x28, though.

Still gonna buy one, though. Can't get over the looks of the p90.

This SKS bullpup looks damn good too.

Two things differentiate the stock from other attempts at SKS bullpup conversions. The first being that it can be loaded with stripper clips and the other being the low price of $159.95.

I am not entirely sure how it works, but from what I can see in the below video, the bolt dust cover / cheek rest, for lack of better terms, is spring loaded and can be popped open, either with a button or unlatching it somehow. When it is popped open and the bolt locked back a stripper clip can be inserted into the magazine. After loading, the cheek rest can be push closed. While it can be used with SKS rifles that take either AK-47 or Tapco magazines, many people, including myself, don’t like the magazine conversions and prefer the simplicity and robustness of Simonov’s original design.

I had looked at that one before, but I'm not too keen on the cable actuated trigger setup on that one. Plus, the whole thing just seems kind of flimsy.

Ugly as hell. You'd figure with as much time as they want, and any design they could go with, it wouldn't end up looking like shit. And LOL @ stripper clips in 'bullpup assault rifle.'

Any thoughts on the new keltecs?

I used to have that mossberg 500 BP stock, I traded it for a stupid cap&ball pistol. It sucked but I didn't realize how collectible they had become.
