  • Interesting approach to shooting

Looks like an older video but I've never seen it before

So, a close contact drill. IMO, anybody should be able to hit vital areas at 2 yards.

You apparently don't spend much time at the range. IMO, if you can't keep the rounds in a baseball at 7 yards, regardless of the gun, you're not doing your part. I've seen hundreds of shooters that would be lucky to put a magazine into a basketball.

That's fucked up. and I'm sure you're not talking about rapid-fire either.

CHL qualifying some people did not make by the time they were done the 3 and 7 yard.

I do not know why, but some people have serious problems. Some of the people in my CHL shooting would be lucky to consistently hit a basketball at 3 yds.

Nope. I'm not the greatest pistol shot in the world, there are MANY people who can put 5 rounds into a silver dollar at 25 yards. That's good shooting. When I shot often, I could never really get my 25y groups below a softball, and this was shooting a few hundred rounds a week minimum.

I'm talking about all these cheese-dick tacti-tools that are at the range shooting 15 different guns and can't bust the X out of their target with any of them, at any range. Add that in with the majority of people who really only want to hear the gun go "Bang", and consider "they're all on the paper" a success.

Hell, if I hit the berm at Garland Public...I consider that a success.

I'm trying to get better at pistol. After 50-75 rounds or so I either start trying too hard or something. My hands start to shake. Met a guy at the range who had a Scar and his paper looked like he was using a shotgun. But he didn't care everyone was admiring his expensive toy!

Most people have glaring grip/stance issues when it comes to shooting. I have a good buddy who shoots in a modified isosoweaverfaggyleanback stance and can't figure out why he doesn't shoot well.

gotta love people who lack an aggressive shooting stance

That's 80% of shooters right there.

I should have implied better the shooter's skill in the video. I got the impression we're supposed to be impressed at 2 yards with rapid fire. Ya, it was fast and a good ragged hole, but anyone worth their salt at that range should be able to get vitals.

And ya, true, I haven't been to a public range with just Joe-off-the-street near me in quite a while. I can see your point.

I lean in and have a good stance. I just think I start trying too hard. Makes me focus on too many things at once I think.

If your standing correctly, and holding the gun correctly then focus hard on that front sight and squeeze the trigger. It's easy to say, but it's hard to do. LOL!
